Irritating Iris

Since a few weeks ago, iris has been providing super inaccurate timings. It is super frustrating because it makes it very hard to plan my route.

From two minutes it became arriving and became 20+ minutes without any bus arriving.  This is not the first time already.  So you are telling me your bus is invisible.

If you check their reviews, there are alot of complaints. You want to provide something, please make sure it is good and is a convenience to people not an inconvenience.

Rahh, but shall not let it spoil my morning.

Review

1) Lose 8kgs. Haha I'm not giving up on this but I'm more realistic now, no more 15kgs.
I don't even want to talk about this. -_-
2) Work hard in my job and give my best to the students. SPIN - know their Strengths, Prior knowledge about them, Interest and Needs.
3) Study hard when I go into NIE.
4) Go on 2-3 overseas trips. I'm currently aiming for Taiwan in March and Korea in December (I want to try skiing and snow but yet I'm afraid of the cold).
1 overseas trip checked!
5) Drink more water, slowly and steadily increase my water intake.
I try to drink more but I'm very inconsistent. I can be drinking 2 cups of plain water in school a day or drinking nothing, so I need to be more consistent in my plain water intake.
6) Continue to keep my room and wardrobe neat.
Wardrobe is 70% neat. Room is 50% neat. I need to get the hanger to hang the photos because it kept dropping.
7) Be more positive and less naggy.
I think I'm quite positive for now but not postive enough. I feel that sometimes I don't appreciate enough which makes me complain.
8) Find a boyfriend. However, according to my horoscope, this year likely I can't find one.
9) Don't forget my Korean, continue to practice my Korean.
I did 70% of one component of TOPIK and got lazy. But I learnt something new. 윈해효: I want (a noun). E.g. 돈을 원해요.
10) Blog more. I feel that this year my frequency of blogging wasn't very good. Maybe 3-5 blog posts per month.
Blogging at a frequency of 3 times per month.
11) Achieve work life balance. Work hard and spend time with my family and friends.
Not bad. I usually meet my friends about twice a week on average.
12) Be more sociable and expand my social circle. Smile smile and be more open.
This is so tough but because it is so tough the more I need to make conscious efforts to do it. If not, I will go through life in my daily self and forgot what I need to do.
13) Be more courageous.
Still trying
14) I really really really hope that I can be somebody who give and totally 不求回报. Unconditional giving to me is really not easy, I guess I'm too self-centred.
Still trying
 15) I know previously I kept making resolutions but I will just forget about them. So hopefully I can buy  quarterly review of them.
Though late, but here is my review.

Enoy the long weekend! I love long weekends <3

Sometimes it is so frustrating and ridiculous when not my problem also become my problem.  And the most ridiculous thing is i dont even know what is the problem. Then my energy get drained.  I realized when im in a negative environment, my energy tends to drain very fast.

Chingay 2015

This is the first time I performed during Chingay, or any other big events actually. I think it is quite a waste that they didn't let us watch the performance at all. At least once, they should let us watch it so that we can  see how the whole event will actually look like. If not, it is just hours of waiting and after performing our segment we immediately went back to the school. We will arrive at the location anytime between 4-5pm and our performance only start after 8pm. Not only were the students restless, I think we were restless too.

We started practicing last year when I just entered the school. Our dance item was a samba dance performance. Haha would I say I can dance Samba now? I guess not (it will be embarrassing if I said yes) because my focus was just to make sure I'm turning in the right direction. Some of the kids can really dance and shake, beside them I guess I'm stiff like a board.

CMT Team
On the day of the final performance, went around taking photos before the start of the performance. It's not always we have this chance!

I kept thinking and still think the make-up look like that of a green snake demon.

NUS Car
Of course I have to take one with the NUS car.
And one of handsome boy too!
Failed jump shot
After our last performance
All in all, despite the burnt Saturdays and afternoons, I think it was a good experience and I once in a life time opportunity to perform in front of so many people! Plus because the group is so big, there is no such thing as stage fright.

When your phone drops into the toilet bowl...

What happens when your phone drops into the toilet bowl?

It once happened to my brother, and last Monday it happened to me.  Luckily, the toilet bowl was clean, at least visually it was clean.

After my phone dropped into the toilet bowl, I did something that one shouldn't do when the phone is wet, I tried to turn it on. According to google, that is the last thing one should do. One should immediately remove the battery and dry all the parts of the phone.

Any way, my phone died and I couldn't turn it on. So I started up my old iPhone in case my phone is forever dead but my iPhone also cannot make it one, home button and on/off button both dead.

So i have heard of putting wet phone in a bucket of rice. In order not to waste rice, I used packets of dehumidifier. After a few tries of trying to on the phone, it will on and shut down again.  So i thought gone case. But around 3 plus, it started working again. It took me more than 12 hours, so never give up hope!

Haha, so thanks to my 'intelligence',  I am able to type this post now.

Farewell Our Founding Father

Today is an especially depressing day for me,  and I would say for many Singaporeans. Even the sky seems to be crying for our loss. Today we bid our final farewell to our founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Throughout this week, we could see how much Singaporeans respect and value him. I really applaud those people who queued hours at the parliament house to show their respect and gratitude towards him.  It is definitely not easy waiting there for hours in the hot and humid whether. Not only Singaporeans, but also leaders who gathered here from all over the world to show their last respects to him.

All thanks to his great vision and ability to attract and run a great team, we get to live in Singapore-a safe, secure, clean, comfortable and prosperous place we call home today.

Thank you for dedicating your whole life to building Singapore to where she is today. You will be dearly missed. You are someone who cannot be replaced and Singapore wouldn't feel the same without you.

This week we not only mourn his passing but we also celebrate his achievements. His legacy will live with us forever as Singapore build upon his legacy and bring her to even greater heights.

Goodbye Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Rest in peace.

Early this morning, received news from my father that Lee Kuan Yew passed away. Although he had been critically ill for some time, I guess many of us were hoping for a miracle, also in hope that he can celebrate SG50 with us.

I think it's ridiculous how some people were giving bad comments to someone who was critically ill.  You wouldnt do that to anybody else, why do that to somebody who played an important role in giving us the Singapore we have today.

No matter whether you are a supporter or not a supporter of him,  it is sad news for us,  for Singapore.  It is undeniable that he has played an important role in helping to build Singapore from what she was to where she is today.

Due to the extensive coverage of him during this period, not only is he a founding father of Singapore,  he also comes off as an extremely caring and loving husband to his wife, and father to his children.
Even though he has passed on, his legacy as a founding father of singapore will continue to stay with us,  for generations to come.

When everyone feels his departure and grief even when we do not know him personally, we know that he has been a great leader.
I really like this picture of his.

"At the end of the day, what have I got? A successful Singapore. What have I given up? My life."

And because of that, we are able to enoy what we have today. Thank you.
