Depression Kills

Behind the smiling face, we really don't know the pain people are going through.

I couldn't believe when I saw on Instagram that Jong Hyun passed away yesterday. Until I saw it on the news that he committed suicide. It was so sudden and so shocking.

It's a reminder to us to always watch out for the people around us. Listen to their pain.

Depression is real. Depression kills.

Bangkok - Little Zoo Cafe

After the fun times at Big Dog Cafe, we took a grab to Little Zoo Cafe at Siam area.
420 Siam Square 11 Alley, Khwaeng Pathum Wan, Khet Pathum Wan, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10330, Thailand

Initially we wanted to go to True Love
Husky cafe, but when Muihong called them, they said they didn't accept reservation and online shared that the queue was long, so we went to little zoo cafe instead.

There is no entrance fee to the cafe, but you should order 1 food and 1 drink each. How can you say no to the meerkats.
Similar to the Big Dog cafe, I think it's to sanitise your hands to allow the animals to be healthy and strong, and to be gentle to the animals. Oh yeah you need to buy a pair of socks to enter for 100 baht. But the socks are cute!

At the first floor, they have the meerkats, parrots, rabbit, a few doggies and a cat. Muihong was super freaked out by the parrot.

When you go to the second floor, is where the food and action are.

Food first...
Nutella Frappe and Peppermint Frappe

Tom Yum Goong Pasta
The pasta is not bad, has the Tom yum goong taste but not the usual soup version. Their frappe is also sweetly good.

When we were on the second floor, the person brought out this cutie pie. So I looked at the person with my small innocent eyes and the person asked if I wanted to try, which is how the cutie pie ended up on my shoulder.

When we first reached the second floor, all the little dogs came and gathered around us and sniffing us. Most probably because we smell of dogs from the dog cafe. Then suddenly one of the chihuahua started peeing at my feet. Then I became the next exhibition, haha kids were going the dog is peeing at her feet. The dogs there quite dao, will come and scratch scratch our legs but don't want to let us carry. Haha, or maybe is just us.

You can take a queue number to enter the special room, with the raccoon and the fox.

The girl inside was super nice as she introduced the raccoon and fox to us. The raccoon's name is fat in Thai. He loves banana.

There is this slide for them to play and apparently this raccoon can climb up but doesn't know how to slide down. Then there is this thing for them to climb but he can't climb because he is too fat and the thing would topple down if he tried. Anyway it was breeding season for the raccoon so he kept walking up and around, too much excess energy.
Super hard to take photo with him cause he prefer to walk. And when he stopped and I tried to touch him he would walk away. Haha the person said he is oppa.

This raccoon kept trying to escape from the room and managed to a few times. He's damn smart, apparently he learnt how to open the door and the cage door. Haha but he scare of the dogs outside. Funny.
This fox is old, and she is already 8 years old. So she prefer to lie there and enjoys when you scratch her. Haha but when raccoon and her get into argument, the raccoon is scared of her.

After that we went to level one to see the meerkats.
The moment you sit down the meerkats will start scratching you, especially when you have pockets and holes. Damn ticklish, I think the best way to torture me is to tickle me.
Initially they tried to take the hair tie on my hand, then the person said they are trying to take my hair tie. So I kept the hair tie in my pockets. And they literally went to dig my pocket until they took the hair ties. Then they also tried to dig my handphone. And the holes in the shorts.
After they finished scratching, this darling fell asleep on my leg. Even when her friend came to dig dig to disturb, she stirred for a while then she continued sleeping. So sweet!

From the internet, they also have fennec foxes but we didn't get to see them. But I still had fun!

Location wise, this little zoo cafe is conveniently located at siam, so after you are done here then you can go shopping at siam.

Big Dog Cafe Bangkok

Went to BKK between 26 Nov 17 to 29 Nov 17.

Day 1:
Arrived on a Sunday, so after dropping our things at the hotel, went off to Chatuchak. Our number 1 mode of transport this trip was grab, at least we don't have to deal with taxi drivers who refuse to go via meter. I really can't buy clothes at Chatuchak because I'm too fat. Their clothes are all for small people, but I can eat and continue to grow fat. At night we went to Talad Rot Fai night market. They had so many stalls selling Sashimi which was so tempting, but I just couldn't bring myself to eat them with all the news about having to be amputated after food poisoning due to eating raw fish.

Day 2:
Went to shop at Platinum mall and central world. Had chicken rice for breakfast, A&W for lunch, and After you for snack. Went to the night market beside our hotel for dinner. Stayed at Berkeley hotel this time. Went for foot massage and it was the first time I had foot massage at BKK. I think because I said this was the first time I'm having foot massage so the person didn't dare to use much strength, so the feeling was more of ticklish than pain.

Day 3:
Today was the highlight of the trip! Went to Big Dog Cafe! Something different from all the eating and shopping in BKK.
82 Soi Ratchadaphisek 10, Lane 7, Khwaeng Huai Khwang, Khet Huai Khwang, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10310, Thailand

The day before called them to make a reservation, we tried to use Line to make a reservation but Muihong said couldn't find them on Line. We reached there slightly later than 9 and were the first customers of the day.

On a side note, when I was looking at the pictures online, it seemed that the dogs would be in the cafe but when we were there we played with the dogs at the outdoor area. Then I read that they have moved and expanded to a larger area, more space for the dogs to play!

I think they really take very good care of the dogs there and the dogs appear to be very happy. Plus you can see how much the dogs love the people there through their interactions.
Can you remember all their names?

I ordered ice chocolate and carbonara, safe choice. Muihong was disappointed with her latte because there was not latte art. You would be seated in the cafe to eat but most of the dogs would be outside, and you can go out anytime to play with them. Shortly after our food came, the dogs came out to play. So we literally had to gobble our food which was freaking hot. And then I gave up, food can come later, play comes first.

Sanitised our hands, wore our blue 'shoes' and off we go...
The dogs will come out in batches, so each time there will be 2-3 dogs for about 20 minutes.

This Beary ah, very poor thing I think everybody was scared of him so nobody really wanted to play with him. Haha then I tried to be nice and wanted to feed him some treats, and he started to grunt and you can see that scared me.
Nonetheless, we still bonded over food
You can buy dog treats for 150 baht. My advice is buy, they will bring you to the heart of the dogs through their stomach. I bought the beef one and Muihong bought the pork liver one, and I realised that the dogs prefer the pork one, especially the smaller dogs.

Chowder and me
Chowder looks like a bear, but a cute and fluffy bear!
I am so loved
Casper is so pretty, and he/she looks like he/she is smiling in the photo

The people there are very nice, they will introduce the dogs to you, their names, age, breed etc. And they would show you how to if you can carry the dogs, and showed us how to do tricks with the dogs. They were also very quick to clean up if the dogs poo or pee, and they kept the place really clean.

Be prepared to be 强吻!
The dogs are really heavy though, heavier than my nephew. But it's fun!

Dog whisperer - Training 2 dogs at one time

Paw paw
The orders that they can follow are 'sit' and 'paw'. I learnt to say 'sit' in thai, which is 'neng'. Something like that.
Why you don't want to take selfie with me?

So guai - the power of treats
If you have such a soft and fluffy pillow, you will dream of unicorns!

This dog came out and right after he came out he poo-ed and pee-ed a few times.
And then he did this. He can really jump damn high and his actions are very fast. The first time he did it I got a shock.
Good boy!
This dog so poor thing, he cannot have any treats because he is too fat.
Although they are called the Big Dog cafe, they have small dogs too.

Time flies when you are having fun. After playtime, went back in to finish our food which had already turned cold. When we went back in, the cafe was really crowded, so I think it's best to go for the first session. 3/4 of people in the cafe were Singaporeans. Haha, for a moment I thought i teleported back to Singapore.

When we went back in, there were two dogs inside the cafe. This black one and another golden one (same breed I think). The privileged dogs who get the aircon. They are very guai though, they will just walk around, and eat their treats. They didn't really try to steal food that don't belong to them.

How much does it cost?
Entrance Fee: 199 Baht
Food: 99 Baht
Drinks: 49 Baht

I would totally recommend this place as I really had fun here! Plus where else can you get to see such big dogs. The fun has not ended yet, next up, we went to Little Zoo Cafe at siam.

Hong Kong Day 5

Our last day in Hong Kong.
After we checked out, went to search for brunch at Yat Lok Roast Goose Restaurant. The good thing about this restaurant is that you don't have to order a whole goose, but you can just order one roast drumstick. This place is similar to Australia Dairy Co, you just eat and go.

Their roast goose is damn good! The skin is amazing! I didn't know that goose is so expensive though. From Karen's instagram, next time when I go there have to order soup, apparently their soup is nice.
It's better to be there earlier to avoid the lunch crowd.
Curry Fishballs!
Finally got to eat my curry fishballs. I really love the curry fishballs in Hong Kong. Although you can find curry fishballs in Singapore, you can never find the same taste!

After walking around, before going back to our hotel to get our luggage, went to get Lord Stow's Portuguese egg tarts at EXpresso (lobby) at The Excelsior Hong Kong.

The egg tarts there are good. It's warm and soft inside while the crust is crispy. Sorry I'm damn bad at describing food, I only know good food and bad food.

Instead of taking the bus, we chose to take the airport express to the airport instead. Apart from having to carry the luggage down the stairs at tian hou station, taking the train seemed to be a better choice.
Our last meal in Hong Kong
$5 cup noodles on Scoot

Second time staying at L'Hotel Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. I think in terms of location and room size it is not bad. Although is not that centrally located, there are food and convenient stalls nearby. The only downside is that their pillow is too soft. I had to stack 3 pillows for me to sleep (but that's me).

Not bad, I finished blogging about Hong Kong within two days. I scheduled my posts so that it will be one post a day so it wouldn't seem too flooded.

Hong Kong Day 4 - Disneyland

The day for Hong Kong Disneyland has finally arrived. I really love going to Disneyland because it's such a magical place!
Before we went to Disneyland we went to Australia Dairy Co for breakfast. I have read a lot about their service before going to Hong Kong. There are loads of review online saying that their service is not good.

There was a short queue when we went at around 8? but the queue moved really fast. Can you see the excitement in my face to eat the best scrambled eggs in Hong Kong, and also to go to Disneyland. I think next time I take photo I should just cover half my face. I think I look good in this photo.

Although it looks like an unassuming breakfast set. While the bread tasted quite normal, the macaroni and the scrambled eggs were daebak. I usually don't like to eat macaroni, but I really like their macaroni because it did not taste like sick food. It's very comforting to eat it for breakfast! Their famous scrambled eggs did not disappoint! It's very fluffy and their seasoning of their eggs is just right. Usually you need to add your own salt and pepper, but there you don't have to. Looking at this is making me hungry now.

With regard to their service, though they don't have the perfect customer service, but it wasn't as bad as we expected. Or maybe because we didn't have any expectations for them. Haha except when I wanted to order drink, he swept me off and asked me to order later. Overall, I wouldn't say that the service is bad, just no frills customer service. Be prepared to share the table with other customers too.

After breakfast, it's off to the happiest place on Earth...
Brought along selfie stick, but you are not allowed to use the selfie stick in the park itself. The entrance to the park was crowded but thankfully, for the rides and all, we didn't have to queue for very long or there wasn't a queue at all. The longest we queued was to see iron man, less than 30 mins? Not sure if it is because it was the typhoon season and the day before there was typhoon signal. Luckily, the weather when we went to Disneyland was good. You can download the Disneyland app and it will tell you how long is the queuing time for each ride.
We bought the Disneyland tickets which is slightly cheaper because of the coupons. Then we exchange the e-tickets are the actual tickets.

First ride we took was the iron man ride. We thought we would need to get the fastpass but didn't need to. The ride reminded me of USS transformers ride, but transformers ride is more exciting?

After that we went to iron man's lab to see him! While we were waiting to go in, they would have sort of a prelude. Then after the prelude, I kind of heard the person said that we can go in already, but I heard wrong. Haha, so when I went to opened the door, the person there stopped me, and I became a sinner.
So excited to shake hands with iron man
Hi-5

Saw tigger and went to queue to take photo with him. Wanted to hug him but felt too shy, haha. And something that Karen said makes sense also, we don't know who is inside tigger, isn't it very weird to hug him. We brought the photopass, if you want to purchase the photopass, if possible go and take photos with every Disney characters, because regardless of how many photos you have, the price is the same. Haha, but we only saw tigger outside though.

We also took Hyperspace Mountain. When I was in Tokyo Disneyland, I escaped from this ride on the way going on the ride, and people told me that the ride is not scary, just fast and lots of stars. So this time, I thought okay, maybe we can take this. I even texted Cheryl and Muihong to ask if the ride is scary, and they said no. Before we went up on the ride, I asked the person outside if the ride is scary, and she said "not so scary".
I guess our faces said it all. The ride is dark and it is fast, but most scary thing is, it has slopes. I hate slopes, though I have to admit their slopes are not steep. 4/5 of the ride, my eyes were shut tight, when I opened them, it's dark and there will be white stars and the ride moves at lightning speed. After the ride, I suffered from super bad motion sickness. I suspect is because the ride was dark and fast, and I couldn't get my sense of direction, which resulted in the motion sickness.

Then went to watch Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Caurosell - the kind of ride that suits me

Went for lunch and had their chicken wings set at Tomorrowland. No picture cause I was still suffering from motion sickness. Their chicken wings and fries are good. We brought the food coupon from their websites, which include lunch + dinner + pop-corn/ice-cream for HK$225.

After lunch, we went to watch Flights of Fantasy Parade. The parade helped to cure my motion sickness.
Hello!
The Eeyore is so cute. He would look at our camera when he realised that we were taking photos/videos of him.
L.O.V.E
Ice-cream and us

It's a small world
Fireworks!!!
Some of the other rides we took were:
Jungle River Cruise
Rafts to Tarzen's Treehouse
Dumbo the flying elephant
Mystic Manor
Festival of the lion king
Mickey and the wondrous book

All the rides we took were suitable for little kids and scaredy cats. Haha, or if you are afraid of the heart drop feeling like me. It's a pity that the winnie the pooh ride was not open when we went, and I was quite excited to try their Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters but they closed the ride already. So I look forward to their new interactive shooter marvel attraction!

The Lion King show was good, it was like watching a short musical!

Another pity was that the night parade was not on because they were preparing for Halloween. Nonetheless, I had fun in Disneyland! Disneyland, I will definitely be back!

On a side note, saw news that from next year onwards, there would be no more fireworks in HK Disneyland. They would be suspending the fireworks. Without the fireworks, it will take away part of the magic of Disneyland. :( Their last fireworks would be on 1 Jan 2018.
