Japan, Tokyo - Asakusa, Senso-ji

Japan is famous for their temples. So since I'm in Japan for the first time, should at least visit 1 temple, so I went to Senso-ji.

Located near Asakusa station. Looking like a tourist, one nice uncle pointed out the direction to the temple for us.

Alot of people, not only tourists but Japanese too.

Before you reach the shrine, there's one whole row of shops selling all kinds of souvenirs and food.
Bought this to munch on. I'm not sure what is it but it has red bean filling. There's alot of places selling this, some even with cartoon character. What I'm holding is supposedly the shape of the lantern.

Met a nice ang moh couple taking picture and I volunteered my services. They were damn cute, cause when I asked them to check the photo, they actually said it was 'GREAT!' in the enthusiastic tone.

Sky Tower
Got a damn bad qian, which said I'm like almost not suitable to do anything. Should just chill at home.
Before you enter the temple, you're suppose to wash your hands and mouth with the water.
So cute!!! Haha even their kids out on excursion can be an attraction.
Making my ice!

All kinds of masks!
Making wishes again. Expensive, 1000yen for it. Plus, quite useless eh. Taiwan fang tian deng then write on bamboo then now this. At the end of the day, I'm still like that.

I think for this should do it at Meiji temple instead, cause I think they have a bigger and fuller board to hang the wishes.

Went crazy at the temple, bought 5500 yen or more worth of amulet. Seriously, I buy not very useful things when I'm overseas. Then I think people don't really appreciate it also and looking at me now, doesn't seem like it is very useful.

Went for lunch at ???.
Cheap cheap, set lunch for 500yen.

I had a hard time trying to tell the person I don't want the salad because I don't eat salad.
Although it doesn't look like it's very yummy but it was really quite nice.
Looks very light and plain but in fact it was quite flavorful. The taste surprised me.

Went to UENO zoo after that!

Happy Birthday to me

Why do people bother to meet if they are forever on their phone?

Haha birthday at my age is just a reminder of getting older >.<

People don't usually remember my birthday because I'm not memorable and I don't have much friends. Thanks to those who did! Special thanks to Carissa 😘

Funnies 3

Children: Good morning Miss Chen
(5 mins later)
Me: So you all know who I am
Children: ... I forget

Boy: Teacher can you write your name on the board.
Me: Why? I will only see you today then I won't see you anymore.
Boy: You only do this 1 time?
Me: Yes
Boy: But I still want to know your name.

This is not funny, but I really find it quite sweet.

Boy: Are you Singapore person?
Me: Yes, I'm Singaporean.
Boy: You don't look like Singaporean, you don't look like Chinese. You look like Australian, no no you look like US.

(5 mins later)

Me: 可以安静吗?
Boy: teacher, you know how to speak Chinese ah.
Me: yes, I'm Chinese.
Boy: I thought you Malay.

(5 seconds later)

Boy: No, actually look like US.

I really love interacting with children. Haha, good children. I love active but good kids the most. Naughty children makes my blood boils.

Children are the most innocent and sweetest little things. They make work not so much work.

I still cannot really handle children though, cause they really like to imitate me. The worse thing is, they like to imitate me when I'm angry.

In case you're wondering, no I'm not a teacher.

Funnies 2

In a bid to get some insight on handling children, I asked my cousins...

Me: What should I do with naughty kids?
Mark: Slap them!
Joanna: Cook them!

I have some violent kids around me.

Aging

Saw this video on Yahoo news.

This video is really amazing and depicts aging well. You cannot explictly see the aging but the person is aging slowly and continuously just like how it is occurring in real life.

Aging is a scary process, to me. Before you know it, you're no longer the child you once were. Before you know it, you're no longer the teenager you once were. Before you know it, you're no longer the adult you once were. And before you know it, life may be coming to an end.

Am I making the best out of my life?

Phantom of the Opera

Went to MBS (my first time stepping into MBS) with Eunice on 20th August to catch Phantom of the Opera.

Before settling down for the musical, we had to first fill our tummies. We had a hard time finding affordable food, cause it's MBS, atas place. Heard from Karen that their foodcourt is damn expensive also, one plate of chicken rice is like $8? The food also had to be fast since we didn't have much time left.

Settled with Toast Box. Their business must be really good, everything we ordered was sold out, like fish soup and mee rebus.Settled for mee siam and iced milk tea.
I wonder if they mark up their price at MBS. The set was $8.20. Seldom eat Toast Box so I also don't know what is their actual price.
很贵啊!I was talk to christine previously and she told me that actually even with the cheapest ticket also can view well. I think the best is either buy the most expensive ticket or buy the cheapest ticket. Most importantly, pray that you don't have the tallest person in the world sitting in front of you because even the most expensive ticket can't save you in that case, unless you're sitting in the first row.
With Eunice
Went in early and queued to take photo.

the stage

So many people were there to watch! Almost everyday of it was sold out or close to sold out.

This was my first time watching a musical. It was a good experience. My favourite part of the musical was when the Phantom was 'warning' the cast because their sound effects were so good you can literally feel the Phantom behind you. My favourite song of the musical will be 'Think of Me'! Haha, people who are deprived of love like this kind of songs.

Anyway something funny happened during the break. Eunice asked if they had a cushion so she can see better since there was a tall guy in front of her. So, they got her this stool? which is actually for kids but since we were at the last row so it didn't matter. Stupid me tried to sit on it and wtf, my butt too big cannot go in. Embarrassment of the day, sign to go on a diet!

Not so good day

Today morning didn't go all right.

Was taking a cab and I saw the signboard of location I wanted to go but after the driver turned I couldn't find the place and the driver gave me the irritated where is it? Seriously need to be so fierce anot, also my first time going there, how you expect me to know my way. So anyway I thought I overshoot so I just asked the driver to let me alight. Then I realized a sign in front that says it's turn right and turn left. Walked walked walked still couldn't see the school, checked google map, said that I had to walk another 10 mins and looks damn far away on the map. How can. I was so damn scare I will be late. Asked a nice lady and she directed the way for me, it was further down the direction I was walking. Doesnt seem as complicated as what google showed. I was doing all these in the pouring rain.

After what I was suppose to do, I just stepped out of the room and realized wtf, the bottom sole of my shoe came off.

Seriously fml. So I had to go hurry find a neighborhood shop to get another pair of shoes. Tried 37 but too big so I asked if there's one size smaller but the person said he'll let me try the new one maybe smaller. Then still big and he asked me to put shoe pads? So ended up buying a pair too big for me because beggars can't be choosers and I'm not suppose to be out shopping for shoes.

Tomorrow will be a better day!

Life Savior

My life savior!

Was saving my last tablet for emergency but now I got more! No need to suffer in my breathlessness. Yay!

Thanks!

Recently, I've been quite busy. Will update the blog on the go or during the weekends.

Time for bed. Good night!
