Hong Kong Day 3

Started the day with good food. Went to 車仔麵之家 located at Wai Chai MTR Station Exit A3.

Main outlet (standing): 灣仔晏頓街1號A舖
 上午7時至晚上6時(逢星期一至六) *注意星期日休息

Second outlet (have seats): 灣仔春園街32-38號榮利大廈地下6號舖
 上午7時至晚上6時(逢星期一至六) *注意星期日及公眾假期休息

Che Zhai Mian
Though it looks like a normal bowl of noodles, it is damn good. Very flavourful and very comforting to the tummy, especially on a cold day. I would totally recommend this!
If Singapore has this, I think I can eat this everyday. Haha, but it can be very filling for breakfast, cause both of us were super full after we finished it.

So we were supposed to take the cable car to Lantau Island that day and have already booked the tickets online. Karen messaged them on facebook and they said the cable car rides were suspended due to the typhoon signal 3, so I called them and they said they would reopen the cable car but they would need to check the cable car first, so they would open at 1?

So we still made our way to Tung Chung Station. However, when we were there, the person said that the cable cars were not out yet, and after the cable car is out, it would take 3? hours before we can start getting onto the cable cars. Whatttt???? It would be like 4? pm even if the cable cars came out immediately.
So ended up we had to refund out tickets.
Since we have no chance to take the real cable car, we had to take a fake one. After being in HK a few times, I haven't had the chance to go to Lantau Island. Hopefully, the next time I go to HK I would get the chance to experience Lantau Island.

So we ended up exploring Citygate Outlet Mall and also went to purchase more cookies and palmier. Went to get Jenny Cookies, and there wasn't a queue and also no limit on the number of boxes we can purchase. I think it's because of the typhoon signal, nobody was out buying cookies. We also brought Palmier at Royal Hotel Garden Fine Food and Cookies Quartet. I think Palmier is overpriced because it's like $30 plus for a box and it's not like fantastically nice, When my cousin tried the palmier and he heard the price, he immediate reaction was that "you got scammed!" But I think the Earl Grey Palmier from cookies quartet is not bad. I like.

And because the cookies can't last too long (1-2 months), so don't overbuy like me!

We saw this spinner seat at one of the shopping malls. It really works like a top and you can spin it around as you sit on it. Haha, but both of us didn't dare to, so we could only swing left to right.

Dinner time was at Ichiran!
Thankfully there wasn't a queue when we were there.
I can eat this everyday

Next day is an exciting day, because we were going to Disneyland - the happiest place on earth!

Hong Kong Day 2 - Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine

Started Day 2 at Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine. We called the day before to make a reservation, best to call to make a reservation in case you don't get a seat if you walk in.

Located at Jordon MTR Exit C2
Open Daily: 11am – 3.30pm, 6pm – 11pm (last order 10pm)

Super cute please

You will definitely know you are at the right place when you walk past it. Hello kitty everywhere.

I have eaten at hello kitty cafes before, but this is the first time I see hello kitty dim sum. Hello kitty custard bun, hello kitty har gao, hello kitty abalone siew mai, hello kitty carrot cake, and one more hello kitty ...

Hello Kitty Cheese Tarts
Usually people will tell you cute food are not nice. Their food there is not only cute, but taste good too. They don't 偷工减料。When they give you prawns is really big prawns. But I think that applies for most of dim sum in Hong Kong. It may not be the best dim sum in Hong Kong, but it is delicious.

After that we went to get cookies from Mr Rich Bakery.
After gathering feedback, Jenny Cookies still win Mr Rich Bakery, but my nephew do love Mr Rich Bakery cookies. The good thing about Mr Rich Bakery is that they have more flavours and their cookies are packed individually, so it's easier if you want to give them as souvenirs.

We then went to walk around Yau Ma Tei. Was supposed to do that the day before but because of the flight delay, we didn't managed to.

Saw Yee Shun Milk Company and went in for a break to rest our legs. If you like milk, I think you will like their steamed milk. However, it can be quite jelat though.
Then guess who we saw. Far-Fetch! Initially I thought their Far-Fetch would be raining everywhere like our pidgeys, but it's not really like that. I didn't see any near our hotel or at the airport. Throughout the trip,we only saw 2 Far-fetch (on the same day and around the same area). After I posted this photo on facebook, I got discovered by my cousin that I was in HK.

Went to Mak's noodles for their wanton mee. It was okay but not amazing. I remember that many many many many many years ago, my uncle brought me to eat a wanton mee and it was super good, but I don't remember where it is already.

Thereafter, went to Tai Cheong to buy egg tarts. Haha, but I got discovered by my cousin so I was going to visit them since the hotel is near their house, but I didn't bring any souvenir from Singapore, so I bought them egg tarts.
I always tend to mask more when I am overseas. When I am in Singapore, I'm always too lazy to mask.

2 Sep 17 - Hong Kong Day 1

I want to blog about my holidays because I realised like to go back and read about them. Should I blog about my BKK trip which I just came back from or should I start from the HK trip in Sep, or should I continue with my Japan trip from 2015. Haha I guess I shall start from the HK trip in Sep.

Went to HK with Karen during the Sep holidays, it was our first trip together after 10 years.

Flew with Scoot and our flight was delayed for more than 3 hours from 6am to 9am. Luckily they informed us the night before and we could go to the airport late, if not we would be stuck in the airport and be zombiefied.

On the way!
The flight to HK was on Scoot's large plane, which meant we had more leg space.

Their window shades are so high tech that you don't even have to pull down the shades, you just use the button to control how tinted you want the window to be.
By the time we reached HK and cleared immigration, it was already 2 plus, and we went to have lunch cum tea break at 翠華餐廳 Cui Hua restaurant at the airport. They are famous for their butter bun. Their butter bun is not bad, but the noodles there is meh.
On the bus
Took Bus E11 to our hotel, L' Hotel Causeway Bay, because it stop at Tin Hau bus terminal, while if we take the train we would need to change train. I think we both regret this choice, because even though they say that the ride would take 80 mins, I'm sure it definitely took more than that, partly because of the traffic. By the end of the bus ride, both of us were on the verge of puking, thanks to motion sickness. By the time we reached our hotel, it was already 5 plus? and the sky was already turning dark. So next time, take the train!

After taking a short rest and dumping our luggage at the hotel. We were off to temple street.

We were deciding between Four Seasons Hot Pot and Hing Kee Restaurant which were just opposite each other. Decided on Hing Kee Restaurant because read on Darren's facebook that the claypot there was good and the sausage was to die for.
I prefer the Singapore's version of claypot rice. And Karen tried the sausage version, and we didn't think that it was too die for. I felt that it was too oily.

Twinning in our leggings and same handphone cover
After shopping at temple street, it's time to go back to our hotel, and that marked the end of our day 1 in Hong Kong.

Backstreet Boys Larger than Life Concert Singapore 2017

*wipes dust off my blog*

It has been a long time since I do a proper blog post, and I was looking at my Japan blog posts and they are also half way done. And I also want to update about my HK trip in September.

I really admire those people who can work and study at the same time. I don't think I can have such determination. Everyday when I come back from work, all I feel like doing is laze around, and on weekends all I feel like doing is also to laze around.

Back on topic.

Last Saturday I went for Backstreet Boys concert with Eunice. I think only when I tell people that I'm going to BSB concert, then I realised that there are so many of their fans. Actually I'm not really their fan fan. I don't even know the members name except for Nick Carter, and I only know one song "shape of my heart", but I really love that song. Other than that, I don't really know their other songs except maybe I have heard them long time ago. Plus I usually listen to Chinese music. So for the past few weeks, especially the last few days before the concert, I was brainwashing myself with their songs (and it worked!). So initially when the concert was just starting, I was thinking in my mind, why am I paying so much money to watch uncles. But ended up, I really enjoyed their concert! It was the best concert that I have been too, because it was so high (not that I have been to many concerts).

Before the concert, still feeling fresh

Look at the crowd!

So when they first started playing their video to start the concert, omg the screams, and when they came out...Then everybody at my area started standing (I'm not sure if people at the stands were standing also). I think I am short so when everybody stand and I stand I can't really what is happening on stage already, their stage not high enough. But when everybody stand and jump and dance and sing then there is more feel. We were standing almost throughout the whole concert, except maybe when they went to change and during 1 of the songs which I don't know, but I think a lot of people don't know also because people started sitting down during that song to take a break.

Too bad I can only upload videos below 100mb.

They can sing live damn well and dance super well too! I feel that their moves are super coordinated and their stamina is damn good, you won't even know they are in their late thirties, or in their forties. I think they have better stamina than me. Can you imagine dancing and singing in that crazy heat, in long sleeves and jackets. (PS. National stadium needs aircon). I really like the atmosphere where everyone is singing and dancing/moving along with their songs, and most importantly, enjoying ourselves.
After the concert - da sweat
When we were outside the stadium after the concert, we heard somebody said she eye contact 4 times, haha so I told Eunice next time we get first row seats so we can also eye contact. Surprisingly the trip home wasn't that bad, the mrt station and train weren't crowded. I was telling Eunice I think I lost 10kg from sweating from the heat and the high of the concert.

After the concert, I couldn't sleep that night. I think it was all the adrenaline rush, and their music just kept playing in my head, even until now. Then when I fell asleep, I couldn't fall into deep sleep also, I ended up waking up every half hour with music playing in my head.

I hope they come back again soon! Soon like next year!

Actually I'm also blogging about the concert so that it can act as a form of closure for me, so that I will stop constantly humming their songs. I seriously suffering from the withdrawal symptoms, and I think so is Eunice.

Where has my motivation gone

I don't know on which day, I lost all the motivation to work.

Was it gradual lost of motivation...or a sudden  lost of motivation?

I think I have never dread going to work so much before.

Ranting again...

Can I work by bringing my nephew to the zoo everyday...

Everytime something happen, I get so angry, and I feel like my motivation is slowly being drained away.

Sometimes I wonder if it is just me who cannot handle it. But when other people before me, and also the c who just came in and also feel that is too much,  then I don't think it's me.

Plus coming from two previous s that doesn't work this way, it makes me feel even more sian why I have to do all these and it takes up so much time, and all the ding dong process. A simple questionnaire to be done by the t can get so complicated in this place. My time that should have been spend doing l and planning l, end all doing all this stuff. And because I still have to do the l, I end up bringing so much of these home and staying so late. When I compare the processes and paper work in my past 2 s...or I compare it with others...I'm just like...

Haha...maybe I should stop comparing...but can't help it. But I'm thankful that at work I have people to rant to and outside of work too.

14 months to go...Haha maybe I can lose weight in this job then?

Tired

Less than 4 weeks into the new school term and I'm feeling so shag.

Haha and I think I really need to keep up on my blogging
